Property: Green to blue powder or obliquely biconical crystal. The density is 2.54g/cm3. The melting point of anhydrous is 493°C. The anhydrate has a boiling point of 903°C and decomposes into cuprous chloride. Easily deliquescence in humid air. It is easily soluble in water, alcohol, ammonium chloride, methanol, slightly soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, ether, and the aqueous solution is acidic.

Uses: used as mordants, catalysts, oxidants, wood preservatives, food additives, disinfectants, etc., and also used for deodorization and desulfurization of petroleum fractions, metal refining, photography, etc.
